Custom Pleated Shades

Pleated shades are made from a single piece of material folded into an accordion-like pattern.

They operate like Venetian blinds, raising and lowering via an attached cord or motorized mechanism.

They look fabulous from any angle, from inside the window and from outside.
Some pleated shades have a cellular or honeycomb structure, which insulates against heat and cold weather.

With so many fabric colors, patterns, and materials available, we can match your shades to any decor.

Pleated Shades Vs. Standard Blinds

Material

  • Pleated shades are made from fabric folded into crisp, pleated layers, which create a distinctive and stylish textured look.
  • Standard blinds, such as Venetian or vertical blinds, are typically made of horizontal or vertical slats (e.g., metal, wood, or plastic) that you can adjust to control light and privacy. They don’t have the folded fabric design of pleated shades.

Appearance

  • Pleated shades have a soft, contemporary, and sophisticated look. They’re often favored for modern interior designs.
  • Standard blinds have a more traditional and functional appearance, although they also work well in modern interiors.

Stack Height

  • Pleated shades have a compact stack height when fully raised, meaning the folded fabric takes up little space at the top of the window.
  • Standard blinds have varying stack heights depending on the type and size of the slats. Some types may partially obstruct your view when raised.

Insulation

  • Pleated shades offer excellent insulation, almost like drapes. Some have cellular or honeycomb structures, trapping air pockets that reduce heat transfer through the window.
  • Standard blinds are made from wood, vinyl, or metal and can’t provide the same level of insulation as pleated shades

Customization

  • Pleated shades are highly customizable: fabric, pattern, shape, pleat size, control mechanism (corded, cordless, or motorized), and more.
  • Standard blinds offer fewer customization options and can’t be shaped as easily.

Confused by all the options? Don’t be. Talk to us about your needs and wants. Even better, drop by our Los Angeles showroom to see and test the different types and styles of pleated shades we can install in your home.
