Custom Roller Shades

Gone are the days of flimsy pull-down roller shades that never worked as designed.

Today’s roller shades are motorized, crafted from space-age materials, and conspicuously inconspicuous when not in use.

And then there’s the wow factor — raising or lowering your shades with a button press. It never fails to impress.

Large picture windows almost beg for shades. High-up windows that can’t be reached. Lofted bedrooms with skylights.

Shades account for more than half our business at Aero Shade. We manufacture and customize them for interior designers and architects. We install them in corporate offices, hilltop houses, university buildings, and thousands of homes and businesses throughout metro Los Angeles.

Not All Shades Are Cut from the Same Cloth

Imagine a stylish and practical solution to control how much sunlight enters your space.

  • Motorized shades that are whisper-quiet
  • Beautiful fabric colors and textures to match your decor
  • No unsightly cords, chains, or pull strings dangling to the side
  • No bulky, ugly hardware to detract from the aesthetics of the room

You can buy roller shades at almost any home improvement store and install them DIY (maybe). But unlike off-the-shelf products, our shades:

  • Fit perfectly
  • Are crafted or customized to precise specs
  • Are designed for your space
  • Are built to last
  • Offer precise levels of UV and sun control
  • Can be operated by remote control or set to open and close according to your schedule (if motorized)

Why Choose Roller Shades?

  • Light Control: Roller shades can give you full sunlight, partial diffusion, or complete blackout.
  • Privacy: Mesh roller shades prevent outsiders from peering into your home while allowing you to see outside.
  • Aesthetics: Shades come in various fabrics, colors, and designs, making them compatible with any interior decor.
  • Space-saving: Shades roll up neatly, making them ideal for rooms with limited space or for preserving a minimalist look.
  • Motorization: Roller shades can be motorized easily for automatic or touch-button use.
  • Energy Efficiency: Depending on their construction and material, roller shades can provide good insulation and reduce heat transfer.
  • Durability: Quality roller shades are built to last, with sturdy materials that withstand regular use.
  • Child and Pet Safety: Cordless or motorized roller shades eliminate the risk of entanglement for children and pets.
  • Sound Absorption: Some roller shade materials can reduce external noise.
  • UV Protection: Roller shades can block harmful UV rays, protecting your furniture, flooring, and belongings from fading or damage.
  • Easy Maintenance: Occasional vacuuming or dusting is usually enough to keep your shades looking great.

Customizing Your Roller Shades

There’s no limit to the ways you can customize your roller shades. We invite you to drop by our showroom in Los Angeles to view our selection of colors, materials, and features in person.

Customization might include:

  • Motorized operation for convenience and safety
  • Room-darkening fabrics for complete privacy
  • Translucent fabrics that diffuse light while letting you enjoy the view
  • Special hardware to fit large windows and skylights
  • Automated programming using timers or presets
  • Specialty materials for sun control, energy efficiency, sound absorption, and more
  • Side channels to your shades to prevent light gaps on the sides

Materials range from sheer to blackout-style fabrics that block all light. We can customize your roller shades’ textures, colors, and patterns and mount them from the top or bottom.

Customizing Your Materials

Different materials offer different benefits and aesthetics.

  • PVC and polyester fabrics are best for blocking light.
  • Sun-reflective materials reduce heat transfer, glare, and UV rays.
  • Natural fibers add a luxurious look.
  • Recycled polyester fiber fabrics appeal to eco-conscious homeowners.
  • Lightweight cottons soften your view while maintaining privacy.
  • Blackout fabrics provide near-total darkness.

Roller Blackout Shades

Our premium blackout fabrics block all light and maintain a consistent look on both sides of the window. They’re your ticket to a restful night’s sleep.

We can motorize your blackout shades for convenience — you can even set them to lower according to a schedule. They’re perfect for bedrooms, media rooms, and nurseries.

Tension Shades

Tension shades, or cable-guided roller shades, are ideal for outdoor use, large windows, skylights, and commercial applications needing wind resistance and precise shading control.

They consist of a roller tube at the top, a fabric shade material that rolls onto the tube, and a set of side cables or guide wires. These cables attach to the bottom of the shade and run vertically along the sides of the window.

The cables keep the shade taut and in place. A chain or motorized system moves the shade up and down.
